The following details the system requirements for Symantec VIP. This information is updated as additional platforms or other system requirements are tested and added.

VIP Access for Desktop

The VIP Access for Desktop 2.2.4 has been qualified on the following platforms:

  • Systems with Intel IPT hardware.
  • Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8, 8.1 and 10 (native desktop mode only).
  • macOS Sierra 10.12
  • MUI-Compliant language support, including English, German, French, Brazilian Portuguese, Spanish, Italian, Greek, and Japanese.
VIP Access for Mobile

VIP Access for Mobile has been qualified on the following platforms:

  • Apple iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch running iOS 8, 9, 10, or 11
  • Apple Watch running watchOS 3.x, 4.2.3
  • Android running Android 4.1.2 , 6.0, 7.0, or 8.0
VIP Credential Development Kit

The VIP CDK 2.1 has been qualified on the following platforms:

  • iOS 8, 9, 10, and 11
  • Android 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8

The malware detection capabilities provided by the Device Hygiene feature are supported from Android version 5.0 and later.

Install the following supported GNU C (glibc) 32-bit libraries:
  • RHEL 7.x - glibc 2.17 or higher
  • RHEL 6.x - glibc 2.16 or higher
The glibc versions mentioned in this table are examples only. For more information on the supported glibc versions, refer to the Product Documentation of the respective RHEL version.

Supported LDAP directories:

VIP Enterprise Gateway supports LDAP User Stores. You may use one or more LDAP directories as User Stores, but they must be one of the following:

  • Windows Active Directory 2016
